I have worked as a diploma student with with Prof. Wolfhard Janke in the CQT group of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Leipzig. For my thesis I have carried out an extensive Monte Carlo study of the directional ordering transition in the three dimensional compass model. The thesis, which also contains a detailed treatment of computational methods like parallel tempering and multiple histogram reweighting, is available here.
Since then I have moved to Simon Trebst's group in Cologne.
