Arrival with plane at Leipzig/Halle airport
When you come through the gate of "arriving flights", just go straight (25 m)
to the next exit and you will find the stop for the airport bus to Leipzig
city center (be careful; there is also a bus to the city of Halle - more or less
in the opposite direction!!!). Fare: DM 10.00. The tickets are sold by the bus
driver. Stay on the bus until the final stop (there are usually two stops, one
at "Messe Leipzig", the big exibition hall, the other (yours!) in the city
center just in front of the main train station ("Hauptbahnhof").
After about 30 min you will arrive at the final city stop. To your left you
should see the (pretty big) main train station. Turn to your right and walk
along Goethestrasse. If you are unsure about the direction, ask for
Augustusplatz - everybody in Leipzig knows that. After about 3 minutes
you will see in front to your left a big square: Augustusplatz. Go straight,
to your left you should see the tracks of the street cars and then to your
right the main university building (a five story building - NOT the
big tower in front of you). Right at the corner is the main entrance where
at the reception you can get (24 hours a day) the room keys for the guesthouses
Ritterstr. and Villa Tillmanns.
