Grawp - A Linux Cluster

Grawp is a Linux Cluster, that is a partially self-made high-performance super-computer build out of commodity hardware components and Megware/Dell servers running Linux. This way, a very large machine can be built much cheaper than buying a traditional supercomputer.

It is hosted at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Leipzig University.

At the moment, Grawp consists of 40 Athlon MP 1800+ processors on 20 dual processor boards, 18 Opteron 242 procerssor on 9 dual processor boards, 60 dual-Core Opteron 2218 processor on 30 dual processor boards, and 14 Quad-Core Xeon E5430 processor on 7 dual boards.

Our total performance is approximately 920 GFLOPS.
