Workshop: Soft Matters in Biological PhysicsLeipzig: 20.-21.9.2005The rapid development of new micro-manipulation techniques has recently produced compelling evidence that biological function is often closely linked to the mechanical and dynamical properties of biomaterials. Accordingly, there is increasing interest of soft matter physicists in possible biological implications and applications of their work, while many biological physicists now encounter soft matter problems in their research. To meet the need of this growing community to survey this exceptionally broad and interdisciplinary research, we are planning to host a small pedagogical workshop.The date is chosen such as to allow those interested to stay for the subsequent conference Diffusion Fundamentals.
